Knit the Homecoming Baby Blanket
Instructor: Susan Barstein
Dates: Jan 8th, Jan 22nd, Feb 5th, and Feb 12th from 12:30 PM to 2 PM
Level: Adventurous Beginner - Intermediate
Prerequisites: Know how to read a knitting pattern, knit, purl, cast on, and cast off. Some familiarity with basic beginner colorwork for striping is encouraged.
The Homecoming Blanket is an absolutely adorable baby blanket designed by local Alabama designer, Susan Barstein. It is a six color blanket knit with bobbles, stripes, slip stitches, and color changes. This class is a great way to gain confidence with a wide array of stitch patterns, and is so fun and interesting all the way through! Whether you’ve got a little one in your life, or you're wanting to knit a soft lap blanket, the Homecoming is an exciting way to learn.
Materials:
Homecoming blanket pattern (available on Ravelry) or in Susan’s book Circling Home (available at Knit)
900 yds of light worsted or DK weight yarn in 6 colors (color scheme below). We recommend Big Bad Wool weepaca for this project.
Size US 7 (4.5 mm) 40” circular needles or size to obtain gauge
Colors:
A (120 yds)
B (115 yds)
C (115 yds)
D (230 yds)
E (100 yds)
F (110 yds)
Class participants receive 10% off yarn purchased in shop (please remind us during checkout)

Please come in well before class to pick out your color scheme and have your yarn wound. We are always happy to help you pick colors if you feel unsure!
