Ozetta Knitalong

Join Katherine Berdy and the Knit B’ham gang in this evening knitalong themed after the designer Ozetta, aka Hailey Smedley! Choose any pattern from her catalog, and join us for this highly requested KAL.

We’ll meet from 5:30-7 PM on the following Tuesday nights:

Tuesday, August 18th

Tuesday, September 1st

Tuesday, September 15th

Tuesday, September 29th

Tuesday, October 20th

No sweat if you can’t attend all the dates! We’ve spread them out to give you time to knit in between, but life tends to get in the way, so come in when it works for you.

Like all of our KALs, it is free to join- we just ask you get your yarn for this project with us to help support the shop, and buy the pattern from Ozetta to support her design efforts.

FAQs

  • Our KAL (knitalong) is free to participate in. The KAL isn’t a formal class, and you don’t have to attend every session. Drop in and out as you like. Come to each session with your materials and be surrounded by others making the same pattern!

During the sessions, Katherine will be on hand to demonstrate techniques and answer questions you have about your pattern.

To join in, sign up using the form below and come to the shop prior to the start date to pick out your yarn and any notions you don’t already have. Amy and Isabel will be in the shop to help you pick your correct size and yarn.

  • We will meet at Knit B’ham five times for the knitalong:

    Tuesday, August 18th

    Tuesday, September 1st

    Tuesday, September 15th

    Tuesday, September 29th

    Tuesday, October 20th

Attend one, some, or all dates! The KAL will run after our formal shop hours, from 5:30 PM- 7:00 PM.

  • Choose a pattern that excites you! Maybe you’ve always wanted to make a cardigan, or strut in a handmade t-shirt. Maybe you’ve been dreaming of a summery floral tee, a bright hat, or just want to make a cozy pair of socks.

This is a great opportunity to dive into a project and be supported by others doing the same! Whether it’s one big project (or a few small ones), Katherine and the gang will be there to assist you with questions and cheer you on.

  • Absolutely. You will want to feel comfortable knitting and purling prior to time, but if you’re trying something new, the best way to learn a new skill is just to dive in.

We encourage you to stretch yourself, keeping in mind that Katherine may be working with many folks during the KAL. She will happily help you through new skills or unfamiliar techniques (within reason). Come with an open mind and a willingness to learn.
