Instructor: Tamara Oechslin
Date: Saturday, September 19th from 1:00-3:00 PM
In this one session class, join Tamara to learn how to add shaping to your knitting to create a proper fit and a beautiful design! In this class, we’ll discuss the advantages of various techniques as we create left and right-leaning changes to your stitch count through various increases and decreases.
We’ll practice on swatches (see homework notes), but please feel free to bring your in-progress items for which the pattern may ask for a specific increase/decrease. This is an excellent class to boost your level of skill and confidence as a knitter!
Materials:
Instructions provided
~100 yards of DK/worsted yarn (a lighter, solid color in a flexible wool is preferred)
Appropriate needles for yarn (US size 6-8)
Homework:
You will need a swatch to work on during the class, approximately 4” wide by 1” tall. Prior to class, please:
- Cast on 20 sts, any method.
- Work 6-8 rows in stockinette (knit RS rows, purl WS rows)
- Leave stitches live on needles.
