Learn everything about how to follow a sweater pattern and knit up a fantastic fitting sweater in this fun three part class with Mattie. This class will teach you how to get gauge for your pattern, read a knitting pattern, knit a top down yoke, body of a sweater, sleeves, ribbing, and more!
We knit the sweater in three sessions. At the conclusion of class, you will be set with the knowledge to make many more garments and apply your techniques to other projects.
Before Class
Before the class starts please come by the shop for help with measuring for your size, choosing your size, and picking out the yardage of a worsted weight yarn for your sweater. Please have your yarn wound into balls in the shop prior to class.
Please have gauge swatch ready for the first class if you plan to knit one (recommended).
Pattern: Flax Sweater (Worsted) by Tin Can Knits
This is a free pattern! Mattie recommends downloading the Tin Can Knits mobile app (free) if you are able- it makes following your size and checking off steps in the pattern easy.
Needles: US 6 and US 8 and DPNS (see pattern for cord sizes)
Other materials: stitch markers and tapestry/darning needle
Class participants can enjoy 10% yarn for class purchased in shop. Please remind us when you are checking out that this is for your class!
