FAQs

  • Our KAL (knitalong) is free to participate in. The KAL isn’t a formal class, and you don’t have to attend every session. Drop in and out as you like. Come to each session with your materials and be surrounded by others making the same pattern! Katherine, who is leading our KAL, will be sending video materials and resources via email to supplement the in-person sessions. During the sessions, Katherine will be on hand to demonstrate techniques and answer questions on your KAL.

To join in, sign up using the form below and come to the shop prior to the start date to pick out your yarn and any notions you don’t already have. Amy and Isabel will be in the shop to help you pick your correct size and yarn.

  • Mooncrush is a bottom up tank top that is worked flat with simple intarsia colorwork to create fields of color along the front and back. It has wide shoulders and deep armholes with a boxy, sporty silhouette that fun and easy to wear.

It has a folded hem band and a slight funnel neck, comes in two different lengths (cropped and full length).

Jaq has designed a two color and a three color tank top, so you can pick your own adventure on what colors to include.

  • We suggest this pattern for very confident beginners and above.

During this pattern, you will work a garment from the bottom up, knit intarsia flat, change colors, pick up stitches, and seam panels together at the shoulders and side seams.

The best way to learn a new skill is just to dive in. If these are new techniques for you, the group and Katherine will be there to guide you through it! Be prepared for a fun but challenging knit.

  • This is a fingering weight tank top originally written for a sport weight linen. We suggest using:

    • Plied Yarn’s North Ave Twists and/or Primaries (a woolen spun fingering/sport weight)

    • Blue Sky Fibers Woolstok Light held double (a single ply fingering weight

Samples will be available in the shop prior to the start of the KAL in both of these yarns so that you can see what they look like as a fabric.

    For this KAL, you’ll need:

    • US 4 (3.5mm) 32”/80cm circular (or whatever size meets gauge)

    • One set of spare circular needles several sizes smaller than main needles

  • The suggested gauge is:

22 sts and 32 rows over 4”/10cm in stockinette after blocking

Gauge is important for this project, so be sure you make a flat swatch and block it the same way that you would block your finished tank top.

  • You will need:

    • stitch markers

    • darning needle

    • one set of spare circular needles several sizes smaller than main needles
