Level: Confident Beginner- must know how to knit, purl, and cast on/off with any method. This is a great next step for folks who have finished 101!
Join expert knitter Katherine Berdy to make super cute and on trend bag charms! These knitted hearts are a vehicle to learn a ton of useful skills that will apply to future projects. During this two part class, you will learn:
How to knit with DPNs (double pointed needles)
Increases and decreases
How to make an i-cord to hang your bag charm from
How to put stitches on hold
How to read a basic pattern
Materials:
Any DK/worsted weight yarn (you only need around 7-11 yards, so if you have any scraps feel free to bring them!)
DPNs and/or long (32” or 40”) circular needles appropriately sized for your yarn. We recommend sizing down one needle size from what is listed on the ball band to make a denser fabric. We are happy to help you select a size if you need it!
Pattern will be provided.
Other Notes:
We will provide yarn scraps to stuff your hearts with, but if you would prefer polyfil or another lofty stuffing, bring it along. If you would like to add any fun buttons, trinkets, beads, D rings or hardware to your charm, bring along a handful and we’ll incorporate them!
